Applications   Features

The OMC6301 is a compact multi-service edge device that allows customers to simultaneously deploy Ethernet services alongside traditional TDM services with rapid payback on investment, providing cost-effective method to progressively migrate to new services and generate new revenue streams. With its future-proof architecture it allows further evolution of the platform technology. The OMC6301 delivers versatility and functionality that service providers need for cost-effective network expansion. This compact, state-of-the-art unit seamlessly integrates with legacy hardware to modernize the existing networks.

Compatible with existing plesiochronous systems as well as with the installed SDH networks, the OMC6301 is optical Add-Drop-Multiplexing equipment operating at 155 (STM-1) MBit/s. It can be configured as a Terminal Multiplexer or as an Add/Drop Multiplexer for point-to-point and ring applications.

A wide range of different customer tributary signals can be multiplexed or added/dropped into STM-1 aggregates. The traffic ports can be 2Mb/s, 34Mb/s, 45Mb/s, STM-1 electrical and Ethernet/FE. A non-blocking cross-connect matrix function allows full access to 2xSTM-1 equivalent payloads at the Low Order VC level.

STM-1 optical modules operating at 1300 nm and 1550 nm are available to cover short and long haul applications.

The feature set, small footprint, low cost, and diverse deployment options of the OMC6301 makes it a powerful tool for optical delivery of E1, STM-1, E3, DS3 and Ethernet. It supports all of the maintenance and administration tools necessary for service providers to administer their networks efficiently. Its fully integrated design provides the management and redundancy features expected of carrier-class broadband multiplexers.
